Q: What are Fontaine Apparel's business hours?

Warehouse Hours: Monday – Friday 9 am to 5 pm
Special Extended Hours July 15 thru August 28 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 am to 6 pm Saturday 10 am to 5 pm)

Q: How do I order the proper size?

We've provide a sizing information page to help figure that out. Please take just a few minutes to measure your child and find their appropriate size.

Q: How many uniforms should I purchase?

This varies from household to household; we recommend a minimum of three tops and three bottoms per season.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check (payable to Fontaine Apparel), Money Orders, or Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express)

Q: When should I expect to receive my order?

Since we process orders on a daily basis, any items in stock will be shipped within 2-3 business days. Any item on backorder could take up to 2-8 weeks.

Q: What is Fontaine Apparel's return policy?

Returns must be made within the current school year. Returns and exchanges are accepted on any merchandise that has not been washed, worn, or altered. Items must be in original packaging and include the receipt which shows all item(s) being returned. All refunds will be issued in the form of the original payment with the exception of cash being refunded in the form of a check.

We regret that we cannot accept returns on personalized or special ordered items.

Q: What is Fontaine Apparel's school year warranty?

All of Fontaine Apparel's uniforms are under warranty for one school year for manufacturer's defects. Items with manufacturer defects will be exchanged for the exact same garment. Altered items excluded. There is a 30-day warranty from the date of purchase on the knees of school pants.

Q: Do I have to pay shipping charges if I return or exchange an item?

Since you pay to ship the item to us, we recommend that you use a shipping method that can be tracked. If you exchange an item, its replacement is shipped back to you for free.

Q: What if my child needs a special size?

'Special' sizes are available for jumpers and skirts for an additional $7.50. Please allow additional time for these specials as they may take 8-12 weeks for delivery.

Q: How do Fontaine Apparel's sizes compare to department store sizes?

Sizes can vary by manufacturer. We encourage you to check the sizing chart with each item to ensure proper fit.

Q: What if my child attends a non-uniform school?

All items ordered from the General Store can not be monogrammed with your school's name. We will be happy to serve anyone who wants to purchase our clothes, particularly for "generic" items such as polo tops, shorts, boys pants, girls slacks, skirts, skorts, culottes, jumpers, sweatshirts, sweaters, socks, etc. without a logo. We can only embroider logos for contracted schools.

Fabric Treatment

Here are some tips to protect the quality of your investment. For best results, follow the washing instructions on the care tag inside of each garment.

Separate the whites and yellows from dark colors.
Turn all garments inside out so lint does not attach to the outside of the garment.
For best results wash like garments together, sort loads by similar weight, fabric and similar colors.
Use only non-chlorine bleach on white and light colored items. Do NOT bleach dark colored items.
Buttons, snaps, and zippers should be fastened before laundering to prevent snags.
Tumble dry on lower settings.
Pre-treat any stains before washing to prevent stains from setting into the fabric.
Do NOT iron logos of any kind.

Measuring Instruction

Careful measuring is essential. Take one measurement at a time and record it before taking the next. Refer to the diagram for the approximate placement of the tape measure. Boys Measuring Chart Girls Measuring Chart

Girls

BUST - Measure across widest part of back, under arms, across full bust line.
WAIST - Measure at natural waistline.
HIGH HIPS - Keeping tape measure parallel to the floor, measure approximately 2" to 3" below waist.
HIPS - Keeping tape measure parallel to the floor, measure around fullest part of hips approximately 7" to 9" below waist.
UPPER ARM - Measure horizontally when arm is relaxed, midway between shoulder and elbow.
BACK WAIST LENGTH - Measure from prominent bone at base of neck, center back, to the natural waistline.
FINISHED LENGTH - Drop waist jumpers -- Measure from prominent bone at base of neck, center back, to the finished length. Jumpers with bibs, skirts and culottes -- Measure from the waist at center back to the finished length.
OUTSEAM LENGTH - Measure from waist to finished length at the side of the leg.
INSEAM LENGTH - Measure from the crotch inside leg to finished length (not shown on the diagram).

Boys

CHEST - Measure around the fullest part.
WAIST - Measure at natural waistline. With pants adjusted to wearing position, measure around area where waist seam rests.
HIPS - Measure around the fullest part.
SHIRT SLEEVE LENGTH - Measure from top of arm to finished length of sleeve.
INSEAM LENGTH - (for altering pants only) Measure from crotch inside leg to finished length (not shown on diagram).

Our Policies

Returns and Exchanges

Returns and Exchanges are accepted on any merchandise that has not been washed, worn, or altered in any way. Please try on the uniforms before you wash or alter them. Items must be in original packaging, with labels attached. A receipt must accompany all returns. All refunds will be issued in the form of the original payment. All cash refunds will be issued in the form of a check. All merchandise must include the order number, your name, address and daytime phone number in order to be processed properly. Requests must be made within one school year of receipt of merchandise.

School Year Warranty

All uniforms are guaranteed for one school year from manufacturer's defects.

Shipping

Since we process orders on a daily basis any items in stock will be shipped within 2-3 business days. Any item on backorder could take 2-8 weeks. You will receive email confirmation within 24 hours that your order was received.
